Wow, what great piece from a reformed Democrat in this is not a game — we do not shake hands.
For 100 years, our battles have almost all been holding actions and “fighting retreats” before the expanding forces of government tyranny. But we’re supposed to smile, fund the opposition with our confiscated earnings, and be good sports about it.
Sharpen your political pikes and swords friends, the real battle is yet to come.

Want to know why Obama’s gaff with George S. went unexplained, why the strength of the denial of Obama’s “Muslim faith” was so weak? Because the “smears” that Obama was a Muslim energized Muslim voters. Go figure… but then I guess if you’ve been planning this since 2004 there was plenty of time to analyze such considerations.

Looks like the Obama win has been as good for the stock market as the bail out was. Which is to say, not very.
One thing is certain, Obama will have his hands full cleaning up the mess created to get him elected.

“We should never despair, our Situation before has been unpromising and has changed for the better, so I trust, it will again. If new difficulties arise, we must only put forth new Exertions and proportion our Efforts to the exigency of the times.”

So the missus didn’t get to vote today and to say she is livid is an understatement. She was suppose to leave work to vote at 4:30p and it was 5p before she got out which is only enough time if everything goes her way. But that certainly is never the case when you’re counting on it. A huge wreck between her work and the polls shutdown the highway which was still shut down over an hour later when I came through.
She’ll be inconsolable if Obama wins….

Here is how the dead get to vote, by illegally throwing out one party’s poll workers….

Why we’re doomed if O wins. I bet my $1 today McCain takes it by a nose. But that was before the news of his grandmother so I probably lost that $1. Wish it was the only $ I was going to loose under an Obama presidency.

They just announced on the local radio news that Obama’s grandmother in Hawaii just passed away. Can you say sympathy vote? I’m trying to figure out how they worked out the timing….

I don’t blame him… I’d have turned down installment payments, too…. to easy to default!

For years the likes of the Brady Campaign have stated that allowing citizens to carry firearms for self defense would lead to Dodge City type mayhem in the streets. Seems to me Miami didn’t get that memo as they have their first murder free month in decades…. Remember this is a state not only with right to carry but also the originators of the “castle doctrine” laws now working their way across the country.

As the ramifications of an Obama presidency, questionableintegrity and alliances and dubious endorsements become more well known and questions continue to arise as to his accepting of untraceable donations the “polls” are narrowing as the pollsters attempt to balance being the closest to the actual election results without giving up the opportunity to dissuade voters from believing they can make a difference with one vote.
Polling versus election result differences over the last two presidential election cycles already put polling results closer to the trust level of a soothsayer than anything remotely resembling statistical research and there is plenty of reason so simply ignore them.
And as early ballots are cast even the typically more accurate “likely voters” polls are not matching the demographics of some early observations of the turn out.
Though I want to be a little more pessimistic the race is far from over partly due to the Obama campaign gaffe-o-matic and despite the media’s attempts to protect their messiah.
So despite their early scheming I’m going to remain optimistic and stick to my prediction….

I think my best analogy of the 2008 presidential election is that the decision this time around is like playing Russian Roulette - one candidate is an automatic, the other a revolver.

Probably the most unreported story of the past couple of weeks is the quiet movement in the House and Senate to nationalize the 401(k) system which allows millions of working Americans to save for their retirement.
At this moment they’re taking 15% of everyones pay for social security. And they’ve done SO good a job investing this money for us they want to take our 401k accounts plus another 5% of our pay?
Also Free Republic coverage.

If you hang Obama in effigy its racist but if you do the same for Sarah Palin it’s art. No double standard here, move along, nothing to see….

If you’ve noticed this site has been offline on and off the last several days its because my server board died a slow and lingering death. So I’m back up on a new P4 board and the latest OS revision.

For someone bringing “change” to politics Obama’s legal maneuvering looks vaguely familiar…. I guess if the actual election results don’t match their projections they’ll have grounds to call in the UN election committee.. again, vaguely reminiscent of 2004. When he looses I also anticipate it will be attributed to “racism in America”. In that case, if the Republicans loose with Palin on the ticket isn’t it “sexism in America”??

If the economy is so bad for the “workers” then how is Obama, the savior of the working class (choke) raising so much money from them? Or is it all a lie and that money is coming from rich fat cats and foreign interests? Or is the economy not really that bad? Seems to me Obama’s weakness is foreign policy and a “failing economy” gives Obama reason to duck it altogether.

Sometime today Lucianne.com, a conservative news site, was blocked by Google as an “attack site”. Viewing the why was this site blocked link initially showed there were no problems but in the last few minutes they added information on a trojan linking to a 9966 domain. So… Google censorship? Or a typical concerted effort by liberal hackers to silence an effective conservative website in the name of their messiah?
Update the domain used in attacking Lucianne is owned by a Chinese corporation.
Update 2 Many people are still experiencing this problem. To turn off the browser feature that enables this blocking in Firefox go to Edit -> Preferences, Security tab and un-check “Tell me if the site I’m visiting is a suspected attack site”. That is, unless your browsing habits are such that you see this warning on sites regularly. As for the rest of us who have seen the warning only once or twice in the last several months, and you have good anti-virus, you’re probably OK to just turn it off until Google gets a grip on abuse of the system for political purposes.

The glaciers in Alaska grew this year, new record lows were set, more record cold blowing away an 1893 previous record, new records for earliest snowfalls in the winter of 08 are being followed by record earliest snows in the Fall of 08.
All thanks to colder weather… hm.
